Pennzoil Ultra Euro 5w40. Autozone puts it on sale twice a year with a 5qts + filter deal for $32.

Or Castrol as a second choice.

Banned, or flamed ... ? Whatever...

Are dozens of responses to the same question just not good enough... ?

Geez, pick an oil and move on. That M1 0w40 just too brown for ya....? LOL.

M1 0W40 works really well in my 8600RPM M3, no extra noise and my car actually does not burn oil when I keep my OCI to 5000~7000mi.

Perhaps the oil is not the enemy here?

Yep. It's a very versatile and robust oil. It is made to be dumped into a truck's engine and run wide open for hours on end, with the turbo spooled up. I think if both of my vehicles recommended a 5/10w-30 oil, I'd run it in both of them.

But there is UOA data here that shows it works very well in pretty much everything.

Where abouts in Upstate NY are you? Central NY State, here.

How many times you posted same question here, you could make twice trip across the country and figured which oil is good for you.

Located in Steuben county. Close to Pennsylvania border. Not crazy "upstate" but it's upstate lol.

Not sure why you think I'm someone I'm not? Sorry but you are very misunderstood.

Goodness, I think that GHT has moved on from Volvos to Audis and VWs. I feel very sad that in the not too distant future a running B5 S4 is going to be fixed until it no longer functions.

What does everyone think of the amsoil hdd 5w30? It meets all the specs to be used in the Audi. Is it better than rotella 5w40? It seems to have a lot more calcium, and less magnesium then rotella but most other additives are the same.

Gearhead1194 in case no one has clued you in- and your are in fact a new guy. There was a guy that went by gearhead and a few other names that was a character and frustrated the garbage out of everyone and his travails were also mildly entertaining and the results usually ended catastrophically. I guess some think you are his latest incarnation. Gearheadtool was one of them.

Costs more to do the same job.

Highly doubt that is a new guy. Same writing style, same state, same cars. Same questions.

You need to be more creative to distance yourself from your prior identities.

Who says the additives are the same. A voa doesn't detect everything so just because a couple of brands voa look similar that in no way means they are.

That's OK, he's back in the RP thread shmoozing it up. Don't know why he even bothers, he obviously wants to run RP.
