Hi.
This is my first UOA ever.
Oil Mobil 1 0w-40
Time 7 months
Mileage 7500kms
Oil filter OEM Toyota
Air filter AC Delco(Fitted K&N 1000kms ago.)
AI 3ppm
CU 9ppm
CR 1ppm
FE 6ppm
PB 18ppm
SN 2ppm
Si 24ppm
NA Water Viscosity at 40'c 75
PQ index Fuel neg..
TBN Didn't check.

Added synpower injector cleaner in to the gas tank a week before the UOA.Also did a throttle body clean at the same time.
Si could be the adrift IAT sensor from the air box.Will see in next UOA.
 
I did check my air filter and all air intake components and all are in good working order.No air/vacuum leaks at all.

Sometimes K&N filters seem to do the job of filtering while others it really makes you wonder. Of course, how oiled it is and how old it is can account for this variable. Their test results (ISO tests) in the lab fall well behind quality paper which are accurate tests, unlike using used oil analysis to gauge it. Just to be safe, I'd take out the K&N for entire next OCI and see if the next UOA shows less silicon. If so, permanently scrap the K&N filter to be safe.
 
I thought leave the k&n and do another UOA.Roughly 2000kms ago I drove my car on a very dusty road for half an hour.I mean very very dusty....
Next oil that I am going to try is Fuchs Titan SL long life plus 0w-30.
 
Wow, that sounds lung-choking dusty! That's how I picture the Australian Outback! That might have caused that high silicon as you know. If it did, it also possibly indicates that the filter didn't do a very good job. I still stay go back to paper...not like that K&N is adding enough power anyway to justify its likely lesser filtration.

I see! I use a homemade pre-filter on the entrance to my airbox. It's made out of that material home improvement stores sell for putting over HVAC vents in houses. You may want to look into that if dusty roads are in your future. It is washable too and doesn't present a large restriction. It allows my main filter to stay very clean and not clog up from debris.

Good idea.Mean time check your air intake system,vacuum leaks,PCV valve/area,All under hood vacuum hoses,oil filler cap/area,oil dip stick seals.
