It's not the oil, it's the engine. They all use some but IMO if it's a measurable amount over an OCI you have a mechanical problem.
Mobil 1 0w30 Burns off?

Went to manual and said to check the oil hot. Rechecked after a drive and was back to full. Engine and transmission swap last month so keeping a very close eye on things.

I am third owner. 179k miles. Engine had a bad valve and fixing it was about the same as a low mile engine replacement($400) and the transmission was neglected according to the rebuilder.

That's the case for most vehicles - no one changes transmission fluid. Ever.

Between the two, I'd use TGMO only if it were much cheaper.
Yeah, TGMO does have a vastly superior VI, but this appears to have been achieved only through heavy use of VIIs.
Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy appears to have a higher quality basestock blend as compared to TGMO and Mobil 1 Extended Performance 0w20 is even better.
For the record, I've used Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy 0w30 in the past and noticed no particular change in what was near nil consumption as compared to other oils.
