Would the mobil 0W40 euro formula be a good oil for a Pontiac G8? 6.0 Vortec, and the guy that has it runs it pretty hard. Ive been using Pennzoil Ultra 5W30 and changing it every 5k, but ive been thinking about using the 0W40 as everyone on here says its one of the best out there. id pair the oil with a Fram Ultra and change every 5k.

Stick with the Pennzoil Ultra 5w30, it should easily handle a 5k interval worth of spirited driving.
It wont bring anything. The LS7 uses 5w30 with no problems in all conditions so it will protect the 6.0 no matter how hard he runs it.

I see no reason to step up to the 0w40 unless you have proof that the 5w30 isn't maintaining sufficient pressure (unlikely given that the car is spec'd for that, even in the higher-output forms).
0w-40 wouldn't hurt one bit. I would use it if you can get it at the same price.
I couldn't see the need for 0w40, unless maybe the engine was heavily modified.
I would consider it for the SUMMER OCI in southern bayou country (or Tejas/Arizona/etc.).
