Sir;new to computers etc. Don't know how to access info on Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5w30 new voa's. Trying to compare whether ep mobil 1 oil thins or thickens as miles accumulate. I speculate it thickens due to evaporation of additives. Am i correct or in left field. Need help or your best guess on this speculation without having to access the data or comparing voa to used oil analysis for Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5w30. Thanks

usually thickening is from oxidation or evaporation of the oil .Thinning is usually from the viscosity inprovers breaking down or shearing. It seems that M1 is fine oil although I am not a syn fan unless syn oil is recommended or needed.

With proper & normal use - in most cases, it should slightly thin as it ages.
