Im about to change my oil today and i have one bottle of petro canada supreme conventional 5w30 left and it has synthetic like package in it..would it be ok to put in three bottles of pennzoil conventional 5w30 and the petro canada supreme to make up the difference and done with or would the two brands react bad as a mix?I know the two brands has their own add packs but i just wanted to be sure before i do the oil change

I don't promote mixing although I do it myself. I don't think mixing is optimal but won't hurt anything either. INDY, you'll be fine with that mix. Run the OCI as you would normaly and sleep well at night. I have heard of people speeking of addative clash but I've never seen it or heard anything bad happening.

No problem. It's okay to mix as long its around the weight that you need. I use to mix Pennzoil Conventional with Pennzoil Platinum 5w30 to make my own blend. (3:2)

The add packs are very finely balanced on GF4 oils. I would not mix.
First of all, we call this 'blending' in these parts.
You will never be 'certified' by referring to this practice as 'mixing' and your engine will know that you're winging it.

nothing will happen man. if you look at the back of any oil you buy it will tell you it can be use with any other brand of oil. i'm sure it's not the best thing to do but let's face it not all things are always perfect. blend it, pour it in, run it for the OCI you like and change it. heck i even did a blend today to get rid of some old qts i had laying around.
Yes, go with the following formula
1 qt Honda 5w20 for Moly
1 qt pennzoil Ultra 5w20 for boron and cleaning
2 qt Rotella t-6 5w40 for most zinc and Phos
1 qt Red Line for best of everything oil
Can't go wrong with this mix xxx errr blend

What do you think "synthetic blend" oils are? Case in point, I bet the new Rotella 10W40 T5 is nothing more than a blend of T1 15w40 and T6 5W40.

Synthetic blends are anything the oil co wants it to be. I have seen no restrictive API definition.

OP--take any advice on this board with a grain of salt, some of it is really off the wall.
To add my 2 cents--no problem with blending oils. For my next OCI I am using up the rest of my Valvoline Synpower 5-30, Valvoline 5w30 conventional and Mobile Clean 5000.

ILSAC GF4 and 5 are a whole new additive ballgame; Just read one of the many patents for low-phosphorous engine oil and make up you own mind about mixing. Most all posters here are unqualified to answer this question. No data, no studies, no footnotes - all the unsubstantial opinion of Joe Blo from Kokomo.

In general you can mix modern motor oils without any serious downside.
There are a limited number of major additive manufacturers - Infineum, Oronite, New Market, and Lubrizol being the primary ones - and their additives are quite compatible.
