What happens if you mix 2 different grades of ethylene glycol? I just checked the label on the Prestone Low Tox I have on hand. It says nothing about being careful not to mix with ethylene glycol. I don't know what it is comparable to, I suppose the plain old yellow jug Prestone.

I do feel that when I soon dump the Dex-Cool that came in my 02 Cavalier, that I do several drain/flush cycles to remove the last trace of Dex-Cool before adding Low Tox or any non Dex-Cool.

Remember when all there was was permanent antifreeze and the alcohol that boiled away?

Conventional wisdom is they do react. I had a shop put a radiator in my dads old dodge van.
I told them not to top off with EG. It had the old Amsoil PG formula.

They did and I could see the reaction after a couple of months. The new Amsoil PG says it is compatible with just about anything. It's what
I run now.
I would not add the two together unless one of them says it's compatible. Even then keep an eye on the system.
