Well now, that almost went as planned!
I received the 7201 last week and completed my very first ATF exchange with it earlier today. It turned a tad messy when I tried to dispense the used fluid into my recycle container, but I believe there is an easy fix for that.
Frankly, I think they give you too much tubing (for the typcal car owner) as handling (2) pieces of it as the rather sparse instructions say to, was unwieldy. But where I got into trouble was with the one tubing connector you plug into on the top of the unit.
Looking at the corresponding tube, I had noticed that both ends were prepared with an angle cut, as are the (2) dip tubes. Now I can see the utility of the cut down in the sump, but when it comes to mating with the 7201's connector - watch out! This is exactly where I sprang a leak when I tried to "dispense" the fluid I had just pulled.
So I tried to get cute - and got wet.
The standard pour spout/plug was then used to empty the reservoir.
Moral of the story is that for my purposes, the main tubing can be cut in about half, leaving a SQUARE cut to properly mate with MityVac's connector.
Anyway, it was a productive day with a new pair of XtraVision 9007's installed, added some rustproofing on the sub-frame beneath one of the headlight assemblies, and my little 7201 adventure.
Used MaxLife Dex/Merc, LG Red and some zMax. Still monitoring the transmission fluid level, as it got rather hard to read the dip stick late in the day despite supplemental LED light (kinda overfilled a tad and had to pull some back out). The 'ole Gal (4T65E @ 213k mi.) now seems to be shifting rather nicely though!
