Daughters vehicle in the title started using oil at a 1qt/thousand miles in the last year. That engine is not under recall from Hyundai however it's a known issue with the oil control rings on many of the cars from that era. 70,000 on the engine when it started to use copious amounts of oil.

She's getting her master's 1200 miles from home so I don't have a chance to do things on her car regularly. Had the chance to fly and see her and drive her car back east to see my folks in the last week.

Did a change with Valvoline Restore and Protect 5w30 before I left with just over 74,000...

This is what the default theme looks like on my end:

If you go to the original post and highlight the text that's blacked out in dark mode, it shows it's black text (see the check mark in the black box for text color), so it's shows as black even in dark mode. The rest of the post doesn't show the black text checked, so for some reason that specific text was probably marked as black by the poster.

I can recreate it in this post ... see below.

Look here: This sentence was highlighted and I chose the black option for the text, so it will show black even in dark mode.

This sentence did not get a text color change by me and is the default when in dark mode.

mystery solved, now we just need to ban people from using black on the color palette
