if you really want to learn about accents in general, and 'strine in particular, you need the documentary musical by "Kevin Bl00dy Wilson", an Aussie Icon.
He describes accents as due to an extraneous pubic hair.
Aussies have it stuck in the nasal cavity, and feel the need to clear it with every word.
Scotts have it stuck, on the roof of their mouth, and no amount of rolling Rs will clear it.
Asians have it stuck in back of throat.
etc.etc.
