Minimum Microns

Wondering what the minimum acceptable Micron filtering standard for a Gasoline filter is for everyday use in a NEW filter.?

Good point, 10 Micron is a higher level but a lower number than 20 Micron..

..but i guess I'm after the worst acceptable efficiency rating in Microns for a std Gasoline filter for road use when new....below which people wouldn't risk it?

Most of the spin-on gas pump filters that I've seen listed on the net (yes, there are companies that just appear to offer fuel filter for the trade) are of the 10um variety.

Wix diesel fuel filters are rated for 10um.

Would i be correct in assuming a 10 Micron Fuel filter would do the same job as a 10 Micron Oil filter?...or

are they not interchangeable?

and if so, what are the obvious appearance differences to the filtering components? (IOW How does each work in laymans terms?)
