Fuel filter Q

I didn't know where to post this so It'l prolly get moved

I'm running a Luberfiner LFF8011 fuel filter on my truck. The Luberfiner webpage shows this as a 30 micron filter.

They show a LFF 8030 as being a 5 micron filter and a Lff 3347 as a 2 micron filter.

Any reason to use one of these instead?

This depends on how large contaminant particles have to be before they become a problem. If 30 micron particles can pass through the system without causing problems such as clogging up the injectors, the Luberfiner should be okay.

I always think that finer is better. But a finer filter will catch more and need to be changed out more.

I would go as fine as possible as long as it doesn't restrict the fuel flow. Low temperatures, especially on diesels, make the flow through the filter harder and slower.
