Mini-Bus kills 17 in China.

The bus, designed to normally carry nine people, slammed into the truck at 9:40 a.m. (0140 GMT) in Qingyang city when the children were on their way to school, the official Xinhua News Agency said. It did not immediately give other details.

Well it was only slighted overcrowded..It had 65

No big deal for China.


If it would have happened in the U.S. Hundreds of these buses carrying each carrying 65 Lawyers would be on their way.

I'd be interested in how widespread this overcrowding is. Not to make light of the situation but I can't stop thinking of this pic:

Over crowding is very typical in developing country. Especially China and India, and especially in the rural area.

But 65 children in a 9 passenger van is a bit much, I'd expect to see 16-20 the most usually.
