I hope to pay my Dakota off early too, but it'll still be ~15 months till I can get it done.

Congrats!

I know how you feel..I just paid off my Cobalt just before X mas. So nice not to have a payment.

Though there might be another "payment" for updates coming for the balt....

It's a Castrol GTX commercial. I saw it on TV last night.

Thanks. I called my own insurance company, there is no change in the price for having paid off my truck. I could drop the comprehensive coverage and save some money, but I would be really stupid if I did that. I am keeping my full coverage insurance, as-is.

Thanks again and Happy New Year Everybody.

Congrats! We have the titles to both of ours. It's a different feeling to have a paid off car. May have to get something bigger in the summer though and really hope we'll be able to pay cash.

Cash is cool..

I don't want another truck, not now or anytime in the future. I will do everything I can to take the best care of my Dakota and I hope it lasts another 10 years.

I'm still kind of getting used to the fact it's after the first of the month but I don't have to make my truck payment. My old due date was the first, with a "grace period" until the 11th.

I paid off my truck early. It's been paid for since June, 2009. I went 11 years without a car payment before 2006.

It's a very liberating experience.

I'll have the Honda payment for another year or 2 and then it'll be home free for a decade or so. Putting the money away and buying outright is great advice.
