That really isn't that bad of a price for 100.
Old photo. I went there this morning out of curiousity. Regular unleaded is $3.449 and 100 octane was $7.599/gallon. For anyoe going there, I'd say avoid the middle. There's no way to get out if you're surrounded like I was this morning. Use the sides or make sure you're at the front or back.

Still that is less than what you pay at the track most times. Or if you built the engine for VP C16 like some people I know.
