2012 Infinity QX56 245k miles
in service: 7800 miles

out/off: unknown oil with Microgard MGL57356

in/on: 7 quarts PUP 5w-30 with Carquest Premium 84356

filter looks okay. Nitrile ADBV was stiff as a board and was causing cold start up rattles.

Excellent minus the stiff adbv. Nissan's have been one of the worst when it comes to timing chain rattle but must give this one some slack since it has 245k on it.

No wonder the ADBV was stiff as a board. 😄

Yeah, you probably meant 7800 miles ... which makes it even worse that it's stiff.

oops… fixed lol. yea i’m not a believer in nitrile ADBV’s in houston heat. every one i’ve ever pulled off is stiff as a board and i can watch the oil pour out of the inlet holes when laid on its side after removal.

Now work. Thank You

I just cut open a Microgard select 12090 and one of the metal end caps had separated from the glue. Not a huge issue since the spring keeps everything tight

Was it gray or black in color? Maybe you're talking about the base black Microgard?

I worry about materials quality and inspection (media and ADBV "rubber") on thems furrin made filters.

Anyone know if these filters are produced in an iso 9001:2015 facility?

that's a FAIL

@BrendanC thanks for the c&p!
