Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 out of round tire. Excessive road force. Defective manufacturing.

Mine are doing amazing things on our trip, but they are from 22 and are LTX AT2. Definitely do this kind of research before dropping a grand. The purchase before these were cross climate 2s on my Audi and some of a different batch had recalls so it was a relief that mine weren’t included but how many check the Michelin website for recalls?

A lot of tire mounting machines are available with a bead massage feature. Together with proper lubrication this should help to minimize vibrations due to mounting irregularities.

The person knows how to mount a tire, the tire is likely a defect.

Actually, there are a number of things that I disagree with.

For one, he used the wire brush on both the wheel and the tire and didn't blow them off afterwards.

Second, he applied lube to the top rim flange BEFORE he took the tire off, wire brushed the wheel, then didn't reapply lube to the top rim flange just before mounting. To me this is the most critical part of prevention of damage to the tire.

I could go on. I am not saying that the tire isn't the source of the problem, but like most people, he misses a few things.

I’ve seen (owned) dramatically out of round uniroyal, bought a set of Firestones where 3 were out of round, and had one set of continentals where they did weird things with steering and tracking depending on where they were mounted. While I’m not a frequent buyer of Michelins, their manufacturing precision has IME been close to tops. Yokohama might have a slight edge.

It appears to the OP's youtube channel, so I suspect that's why he's being defensive.

New tyre mounting machine, I have no idea thought it would be enjoyable:

Not my channel.
