The FUD regarding EV's burning through tires at an alarming rate needs to have a serious convo with my CrossClimate2's.

~47k miles in my rear tires are still kicking quite nicely at 5/32's with fronts ~7/32's, the RWD bias on ID.4 causes rears to cook out before the fronts. I imagine I will need to start shopping for tires around 60k mile mark. Fronts are barely worn but with the dry rot cracking on the CC2's at this age I don't feel comfortable running them beyond when the rears need replacing in the next 4-6 months and they will be right about the 4 year mark at that point.

Anyhow I have been supremely pleased with the CC2's that I had installed in December of 2022. Fantastic tires that are quiet and show excellent grip in all driving scenarios, tread does squirm so they are not a sporty tire by any stretch, I would equate them to be one of the best of the Grand Touring tires. The only real negative I can say is they have always exhibited a low speed parking lot growl when turning, well that and the expected Michelin dry rot cracking at a young age which is visible in my pictures.

Overall I am very pleased with the tires, they still perform admirably and will be replaced with another set of CC2's once I get down to 3-4/32's on the rear. Thinking these will last me ~60k miles but even at that mileage I should have a little time to shop before tread life gets critical.

After 16K miles, my CC2s are at 7/32" all around. I find them somewhat noisy and not great for fuel economy, but OK overall. Out here in Michigan, proper winter tires would be best, but I've gotten too lazy to do the swaps, so CC2 will have to do, but just barely.

No dry rot on mine.

Give it a couple years and you will start seeing the cracks in the rubber. Will say until ~1 year ago my car sat outside 24/7 in hot Georgia sun so maybe garage kept vehicle will fare better. Can’t say the visible cracks in the rubber have notably affected the grip.

I like mine but only have 43,000 kms on them so along way to go as I only put about 5,000 kms a year on them now I am retired.

Neighbor has a set on his Forester. 55K on them and rotated 10 times by me. Most of the tread is 5/32" but the inner and outer-most regions are down to 3/32". Starting to get a hair noisy and are dry-rotting.

That sounds like under inflation?

I am at 20,000 miles on my CC2's (225/55-19) CX5 turbo which I tend to drive fairly aggressively in...two full montana winters and two winter trips to Minnesota and back and they have been stellar..all tires wearing very even and I rotate every 4000 miles or so give or take a few miles...I am at 9/32's or ever so slightly less. at this rate they definitely will last a good long while. my only gripe is mpg has dropped a fair amount compared to the oem Toyos. I however will give up 2 or 3mpg for the performance these provide on winter roads. they are pretty amazing on snow and ice and i have driven in some very heavy down pours and have no issues with hydroplaning like some have reported. If I had to replace them due to damage tomorrow i would get the same tires. they look kind of funky but you get used to that.

We had a 2015 CRV that had a lot of “snap torque” right off the line. It would spin the tires a bit wildly when it rained here. I learned to just hold the throttle down and let the electronic traction control work it, but my wife was the driver and she hated it. She knew it wasn’t supposed to be this way. The problem was exacerbated by unlevel pavement fighting stiff anti-roll bars, thereby partially unloading one of the drive wheels on turn-out. We retired two sets of tires early until we found the CC2s. They solved every problem we had with that vehicle and our streets. We’ve had 2k sets, we’ve bought a 3rd set for a friend and had friends buy 2 more based on our experience.

I’ve been a little concerned that newer versions may seem to be a little noisier? We don’t have a set in our garage at the moment. We could be buying some at the end of this year for her rav4, depending on what the noise trend looks like. I’m also tempted to try the new continental AW offering or even the DWS06+ for her. Hard call. The CC2 is a bit of a rock star tire.

I had some on my 2005 CRV and absolutely loved them. Fantastic wet traction and performance.

I had a cut in the sidewall on one and discovered they stopped making them in my size. Disappointing!

We have a manual transmission and it’s hard to get started on a wet road with any sort of incline, without spinning the tires. That was never an issue with the CC2.

I've got just over 38,000 on mine and are 19 months old (23 Forester). Every tire is 8/32. A little louder. But still perform great.

I had a set and ended up replacing them with continentals and gave them to a co worker in need who couldn’t afford new. They were loud, killed my fuel mileage and made my awd system feel lethargic and generally louder. They just weren’t a good fit for a Nissan rogue and were grossly overpriced. But, they did wear like iron, that I’ll give them.
