I have a 1994 GMC Sonoma with the 4.3L V6, 104K miles on the engine. The oil had just been changed when I purchased the vehicle. I dumped in a bottle of Auto-Rx. replaced the filter at 1500 miles into the treatment. The filter seemed pretty clean other than some metal flakes. What would cause this (bearing wear)? What are the mechanical signs of bearing wear?
(as a side note, I just finished the Auto-Rx treatment this evening.I changed the oil and started the rinse phase. Truck seemed to run much smoother. I will cut this filter open and examine it after the rinse phase.)

The metal flakes are an by product of Auto-Rx cleaning your engine. The flakes where suspended in sludge. This is very common after an Auto-Rx treatment. I suspect that your rise phase will have more of an cleaning effect on your engine.

you know, i have no idea what makes auto rx effective I(nor do i really care ) but as a confirmed cynic i repeat again how i am in wonder at it's effectiveness. i am suprised this guy isnt selling it by the truckload.
