Watch out The goverment is going to force you to a 10k OCI. I bet several Bitogers are going to start thinking about seceding from the US.

Why should unelected bureaucrats even concern themselves with when people choose to change their oil? Is California really that screwed up?

While I agree that 3,000 mile oil changes are a waste, it really isn't the business of unelected bureaucrats to make suggestions or guidelines for the public. And on a side note, is there really anyone in California that actually believes they have to change their oil every 3,000 miles? Why not just peel the stupid little sticker off the windshield and toss it in the trash rather than blindly follow it?

Agreed. Based on the last UOA I did (really should do another), there's no way I could run T6 out to 10k in my Jeep, except for maybe an all-highway OCI.

Yes, but why let the truth get in the way of a good internet rant?

The majority of Californians are pretty much idiots. Why else would Jerry Brown Jr. be in his third term? I will stop there.

There are a lot of posters on here who dont even trust their OLM.

Personally, I have an almost napalm hatred of the CA Legislature, but I don't know what's worse...a board who says there are unelected bureaucrats in CA mandating 10K mile oil changes ( he's an elected politician from Santa Monica by way of New York and the issue pertains to the oil industry standards and not brown shirts monitoring OCIs )

...OR people who tell me I can't change my oil on a 5-6K mile calendar-based schedule and MUST obey the OLM or I'm wasting resources and money...independent of inconvenience or personal experience / circumstance with said vehicle and schedule. I MUST wait to change it when the OLM says 10% even though I won't have the opportunity again for another 2-3K miles when it's 0%. I love lockstep thinking...and on that count, I'd probably take the CA Legislature versus that thought process.

What are you talking about? That news post said nothing about 10,000 mile oil changes or anybody forcing you to wait to change your oil.

It was just telling us we can extend it.
