My father in law received a letter from mercury marine indicating that a stud on the upper shift arm shaft and a bracket need to be replaced due to corrosion from operating in saltwater, and lubricated. The engine model number is 1150F23HD. Does anyone have knowledge about this issue or experience? Will this part of the motor have to be lubricated on a yearly schedule from now on?
