Mercon SP vs Mercon V in power steering???

Anyone using Mercon SP instead of Mercon V in their power steering? I have a 2006 6.0l Powerstroke and want to use a better fluid.

Mercon V, SP is very thin.

Yes SP will be too thin. V will work great or even mobil 1.

Yeah it does, The Mobil Mercon V I put in the Windstar STINKS something awful. Must be the additives. Any one know what makes it smell so bad compared to other atf's ?
