Mercon LV a Matic J equivalent?

I was checking out Valvoline MaxLife ATF and noticed that it's good for use in Mercon LV and Matic J transmissions. My question is that since Mercon LV and Matic J appear to posses some of the same characteristics, would Mercon LV be okay to use in Matic J applications? Seeing as how the nearest Nissan dealership is 3 hours away and I have a substantial stock of Mercon LV (I work at a Ford dealership) it would a very convenient substitute. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Oh BTW, it's for a flush on an 2006 Titan.

Matic J is no more. They are pushing the Matic S now.

If you're a gambler, you can give it a shot. Make sure you do a battery disconnect after the flush. And, keep a bottle of Lubegard platinum handy if the shift is a little abrupt.

Well I went ahead with the flush and so far, so good. Smooth shifts and cherry red fluid. All for the cost of... nothing. Perks of the job.
