In my 2001 F150, i know i am to use Mercon V in the transmission....
but the fluids listed for PS and Transfer case is Mercon ATF. Can i also use Mercon V in those???

Looking at Mobil Full Synthetic for the transmission and the above if it's OK.

Mobil 1 ATF covers both Mercon and Mercon V spec's.

I have used Amsoil ATF in my Rangers PS with no problems.

ETA: That I have also used the Amsoil in my Jeep's TC with no problems.

I see what you are saying. Strange they don't put an "X" next to the approvals the way they did with the Multi-vehicle sheet.

I think the Mobil 1 should be good for MV since they do give it a recommend. Your warranty is over correct?

yep, 92k wonderful miles....

I took her to Iffy Lube and I can't sleep at night LOL...so I'm going to drain what i can, then fill with Mobil 1.
then at 120k, drop the pan to change the filter and fill with Mobil 1.

With the Mercon/DexronIII expiring, MerconV and DexronVI will be the only licensed choices. This doesn't mean that the blenders will stop making Mercon or DexronIII. They still sell a volume of it, and not everyone wants to upgrade because they fear their owners manuals, warranty bu1l, and internet hearsay. Soon all future DexronIII/Mercon ATFs will be unlicensed, illegitimate or expired specs also. But, we'll still buy 'em.

If you want to use Mobil 1 ATF in your Honda, just dose the Lubegard, Runrite, or Smartblend.
