2012 Mercedes ML350 3.5L 60K miles. 10K OCI with M1 0w40. This time I put in 8 quarts of Castrol 5w40 and MB filter ( $25 from the dealer and $6 for a copper drain plug washer) yikes! My sister didn't give me much of notice to buy the filter else where and the dealer is only a mile down the road.

Looks good, thanks for

My 2011 VW Jetta TDI's original oil filter is zig-zagging like that. I will post it here in a month or so when I change the oil.

Why did you use 5w40? I believe Castrol 0w40 is 229.5 and I think most newer MB's spec 229.5. For 5w40, it's MB 229.3 which is the older spec, 229.5 is supposed to be better. Mobil 1 0w40 is also MB 229.5.

I happen to have 8 quarts of this oil in my stash just wanted to use it up, After this OCI its back to M1 0w40.

Those filters are made by Purflux in France. They are an OEM supplier to MB and VW/Audi.
