2012 Mercedes ML350 3.5L 60K miles. 10K OCI with Mobil 1 0w40. This time I put in 8 quarts of Castrol 5w40 and MB filter ( $25 from the dealer and $6 for a copper drain plug washer) yikes! My sister didn't give me much of notice to buy the filter else where and the dealer is only a mile down the road.

Looks good, thanks for

My 2011 VW Jetta TDI's original oil filter is zig-zagging like that. I will post it here in a month or so when I change the oil.

Why did you use 5w40? I believe Castrol 0w40 is 229.5 and I think most newer MB's spec 229.5. For 5w40, it's MB 229.3 which is the older spec, 229.5 is supposed to be better. Mobil 1 0w40 is also MB 229.5.

I happen to have 8 quarts of this oil in my stash just wanted to use it up, After this OCI its back to Mobil 1 0w40.

Those filters are made by Purflux in France. They are an OEM supplier to MB and VW/Audi.
