Spend your $$$ there.

Increasing memory is always good but, decreases as you step up. Unless you are playing so really wild games, I think going from 6 to 8 will not be noticable. Ed

Do not upgrade your RAM to browse the Web, unless you typically open 200+ pages at a time... I guarantee you're not utilizing even 1/3 of what you have now.

Agreed. Solid state drives cost about $0.50 per GB now. So even a 256 can be had for $140 just about any time, and cheaper than that if you are willing to look for sales over the next month or so. I just got a 240 GB Crucial for $110 after rebates from Tiger Direct. Right now it is $125, no rebates. They recently had an AData brand 256 GB for $120, no rebates.

Look up Data Memory Systems, they have good memory at a good price...

Also look in the installed programs for any "toolbars". Google Toolbar, etc.

Major speed boat anchor...

Very, very few laptops allow for the addition of a dedicated GPU. Even gaming laptops with dedicated graphics can't be swapped.

What do you mean by large chip? Are you saying you prefer a 32nm chip over 22nm?
