read an article ages ago in New Scientist on meme theory which has been dogging me for a few years.

After spending a long Sunday at work (three day weekend, and we're trying to work out the best way to fix a big broken thing), my boss suggested I look at John Butler Trio's live version of "oceans" on Youtube.

Looked at it, and was impressed.

Used an FLV downloader, grabbed it. Loaded an FLV player onto memory stick, along with the downloaded "oceans", a Renault F1 engine playing "We are the Champions", the BF109 vid in another thread, Lindsay Buckingham.

The handful of "memes" on my hard drive doubled when I decided to share. Will triple when/if boss likes either the player, or the vids themselves, and whoknowswhat if he shares.

In a few decades, archaeologists may be working on my house, and find back-up DVDs of my hard-drives, and the memes will spring to life like a thousand year old vase.

To quote...it's life Jim, but not as we know it.

BTW, I saw a documentary by Dawkins, and he was an arrogant F-witt WRT his G-theory.
