Who makes Meijer Oil (Meijer is a Midwest Walmart clone)? It is very affordable and I was wondering if it would be safe to use in my wife's 96 Grand Am 4-cyl beater. I am thinking that this oil and a Supertech filter would be the ideal budget setup for her.

I've often wondered the same thing, sorry I don't have an answer for you. I think Fred Meijer would be a bit upset if he found out you called his stores a Walmart clone. If anything the newest Walmarts are getting more and more like what Meijers have always been (24Hr supercenter including groceries and everything else under the sun).

It seems I've read on this forum before who made it but that has been a while and they could have changed suppliers since then anyway.

Do a search.

I emailed Meijer's corporate offices, they explained that the Meijer oil is bottled by Havoline. The Meijer "Auto Trend" oil was bottled by Citgo.

The AutoTrend is being phased out.
It might be a good thing to stock up on when it goes on sale for $15/case, thats what I plan to do.

In the mean time, I went to tractor supply today and got a case of Chevron Supreme for $18 and change($1.47/qt)
Something you might think about, if you have a tractor supply near you.
