I tried the Meguiar's kit on our MDX and am blown away by the positive results. I didn't expect much from some PlastiX and a fuzzy nap you chuck into a drill, but it turned out fantastic. I'm used to the kits where you have to sand and polish, and I didn't want to try that on the MDX's lamps, and am glad to report that I don't have to. If you've been contemplating it, the $20 for the kit is money well-spent.

Walmart sells them by me.....down the car detailing aisle with the buckets, rags, etc.

Once you get that assisted elbow grease in there, it's game over for that haze :P

I was pretty impressed with the 3M kit. I did my parent's 03 Venture van's lights over last weekend. Those lights were beyond hazed up.

I've used Plastic X on lights before and it improved them with little elbow grease, but they weren't that bad. I'd think with a buffing action it would work pretty well, but I can't imagine it working on the really hazed lights.

I bought the kit at Walmart, for $19.99.

I used the 3M kit on my Dakota's lamps, the one with the various stages of sanding. Those lamps had some sort of clear coat finish that was flaking off them, plus the yellowing. The sanding really cut all that stuff off, and worked well. However, just a few years later, they're starting to yellow again.

I wasn't excited about sanding down the MDX's lamps. I had used a PlastiX treatment before on my '01 STS's front head lamps, and was not happy with the results (lack thereof). But it was 100% elbow grease, and it was just not effective. With the drill tool in the newer kit, it worked wonders. If the lamps do begin to yellow in another few years, at least the process isn't that hard to buff them back out.

My experience with headlight restoring treatments is that they rarely last beyond a few months before they start looking hazy again.

+1
Especially if the vehicles are kept outside.

I just did the Mequires on my 92 Camry. there are less expensive kits out there but this one included the drill bit ball to place the cleaning compound on. Anyway, it worked really well but needed to use the sandpaper (included) to clean up scratches, nicks etc but overall a noticeable difference. now, tried it on another car, came out fine but the lens is actually hazed on the inside of this one and not worth the effort to try to remove the lenses to clean inside.

Overall, I would purchase again. Now, will it last, I guess time will tell but so easy to use that applications every 6 months or so will not be a big hassle.
