As I reported in the Mechanical section, I have had a noise coming from the front of the engine. I thought it was the tensioner pully, but wasn't sure. Today I went to HF and bought a Mechanics stethoscope for $4 and it really works well. It ID the water pump, but I wasn't convienced, so I checked the Focus with the tool and sure enough it was very quite. I got under the engine and removed a couple of plastic panels and saw a deposit trail coming from the pump. These things realy work.

Best $4 you spent!

HF has a LOT of great tools that work great.

I could spend WAY too much there...

When my dad was a service manager at Datsun he said he used to walk around with one around his neck like a doctor. Customers would laugh at him until he found their problem with it.

Tig's car could be blown up by Mobil 1 and he would still find a way to defend it.

I am sorry Tig I just couldn't help it, you can rip me one...lol

No I wouldn't do that. However if I did have an oil related problem you guys would be the first to know. However in 34 years of using M1 oils I have never had a M1 lubed part fail. Engines, trannys, PS pumps, diffs, or wheel bearings. Not yet anyway.
