So on my way to get gas last night I decided to take a video of my driving oil pressure. Sorry about the quality its from my phone.

Looks good, well damped action, but you need to buy gas.

I'd be more interested in idle/light load pressure behavior at full oil temp.

My MBs tap it right off the oil filter and run an oil line to the gauge. There is no dampening so you get a nice flutter under some conditions...

Well I just took my gf home 15 miles on way so the oil was nice and warm. As you can see it's around 30 psi. The tap is right after the filter as well.

Nice installation. Yeah, get some gas, running that low a lot can shorten the life of the fuel pump (overheats).

I would love that pressure. My F150 was running 32 psi on the highway yesterday and idled at 14 psi. That's with a 10w30/10w40 mix. I think you have the same mech gauge I do, AutoGage by Autometer, it's their budget model, but a fine gauge.

It is a fine gauge. Its very interesting to see oil pressure at different temperatures. There isn't much difference between 20 and 30 weights. But a 40 weight she was never under 40 psi. I think mod motors are designed to run at higher oil pressures. I built my LT1 with a little looser tolerarances to run 15w40, but it also has an oil cooler.

Well my Chevy 454 Motorhome consistently runs 55 psi at highway speed and about 30 psi idle.

Now the F150 pressures I gave in my previous post are after running 100 miles in 90F heat. On my normal 15 mile commute, it pretty much stays in the upper 30s and in winter never goes below 40 at speed.
