I have been using MC 5-30 from Wal-Mart for a couple of years. At 2.77 a qt. it's a great deal. A new grocery chain opened up near me and they have Union 76 synthetic blend for 2.70 a qt. My question. How close are these two oils? Is 76 going to be any less in quality than its other Cononco counterparts?

Conoco Phillips makes both Motorcraft and 76 oils. They also make Kendall. All of these are synthetic blends and I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they were all exactly the same oils.

I wonder if you could find MC for less? Maybe it's a Cal thing? Down here, it's been and is still $2.30/qt. I have 11 5qt jugs on the shelf.

It's the best of both worlds...priced like a conventional with the benefits of a synthetic...longer OCI. 7.5k is perfectly acceptable and recommended by Ford / Honda.

MC doesn't come in the 5-30 jug. I have only seen 5-20 at walmart. I have no choice but to buy it by qt. It seems like the 76, Kendall, and MC are all the same. MC 2.77 qt in CA. Everything is more here.
