MC FL-500S, 5,500 miles CUT OPEN

Good morning BITOG. This filter and QSED blend was on brothers GMC YUKON for 6,500~ miles. Lots of highway driving and weekend city or stop and go driving. I think it looks good

Filter looks like it held up for the length of OCI. Is the seam still in tack and what did you replace it with?

Sean was intact. Replaced with some Pennzoil Platinum 5w30 from August 2015 production date and FRAM ULTRA 10060(think I got # right)

I never see that(grit)in my old oil filters. My guess is the engine hasn't been cared for and over extended the OCIs using dino.

No, vehicle wasn't taken care of by first owner. After brother bought it it's slowly cleaning up

Car51 - nice post as usual. I seem to be getting cleaner returns than this so think the engine is a bit dirty. The filter did its's job and without tears.

Well, this was only 2nd oil change since brother has owned the vehicle so it's getting there

You will notice the change especially if you take a picture. I have been decanting the oil and looking for sediment in the drain pan. It is a slow but sure process to clean up and engine.
