I remember a year or two ago when I would see Motorcraft synthetic blend mentioned all the time here, now I rarely see it mentioned on this board?

Is it just me?

If it's true, then why?

I like MC if I could get it in the WM 5 Quart jug. If I bought MC blend by the quaret, it would cost ~ the same as PP in the jug.

Noticed it wasn't particularly cheap at Wal-Mart the other day. Quaker State Ultimate Durability was maybe 75 cents more per quart in the 5 quart jugs

It's a no brainer when oil goes up in price people dont buy it as much. I extended all my oci's to 6000 from 4000 because oil is so expensive.

In Ohio we have also seen a shortage of 5w30 MC, with only 5w20 being found by the quart and jug (even then, Walmart has been regularly running out of the 5 quart jug). Since 5w30 is still the most used oil across the industry, the MC market will naturally decline.

It is still competitively priced in this state and the best oil for $18 a jug IMO. Pennzoil and QS Syn Blends are retailing for a dollar or two more - a bit steep for such marginal difference.

Great oil for $11 to $13 per five quart jug.
Now it is a dollar/quart away from Mobil 1 or Pennzoil Platinum.

The pure syns often go on sale, MC never does.

I still see it mentioned a good bit, but I agree use by BITOG'ers seems to be trending down and I think it's mostly the price increase, the value factor has definitely faded.
