2016 Mazda6. Every other panel looks factory fresh but the roof is starting to look pretty bad. I guess I’m going to have to save my pennies and pay a body shop to spray it. Should have waxed it more often I guess.

Looks like a meteor skidded off of it! 😎

Doh! Sorry!

Seriously, the Party Source in NKY isn’t a known location for lots of sun and intensive UV rays, though it does reach the 90s in the summer.

Has it been parked outside most of its existence?

How does the hood and trunk look?

It's always been outside. The trunk and hood are perfect.

Ten years exposure to the elements will make many cars begin to look bad. It shouldn't be very expensive to have the roof refinished.

Is there a recall on this? Honda had recalled a number of Accords I think years ago due to the white paint chipping off.

Agree, if you can come by the time the paint shop opens it'll be done at the end of the day

My 2013 silver Silverado and my 2017 silver Mazda 6 both sit out in the sun. Both get waxed only intermittently.
The Silverado still looks new. The Mazda was trashed (like your picture) and I had to have the roof, trunk and hood repainted.
The body shop rep told me some of the Japanese cars (specifically Mazda and Honda) only spray a thin clear coat and here in Vegas it sure shows. This 6 will be my last Mazda for that reason.

I would just respray it with some decent black paint and maybe a clear coat. Or, wrap it like others suggested. It's amazing how good you can do some of these projects yourself and nobody would even notice it.

If only folks obsessed over car wash intervals and various exterior wax/sealant products like they do oils and oil change intervals.

Our 2009 Mazda 5 that lives outside has clear coat failure on the roof, hood, and mirror tops. I don’t recall the exact color, but it is bluish gray. You might want to get in front of this by polishing and ceramic coating the other areas.

I wonder if you could wet sand/polish the roof and rattle can clear it.

My paint is trashed. While I would prefer it look good and not be trashed I really don't care. I do care about the inside though and aside from a little bit of wear on the vinyl driver seat after 130k and 10 years it still looks new inside. I just had it detailed. It helps that I have dark tint and I always use a covercraft windshield shade.
