Hi

Has anyone here used any of below listed oil in a Mazda FZ application

Castrol Transmax multi vehicle

Valvoline Maxlife

I've used Aisin FZ equivalent from RA with good results. Ouch on the shipping.

Hi
Couldn’t find Aisin FZ ATF here in Australia.

Valvoline maxlife
Castrol transmax
Penrite LV
Nulon
Are the options we have here

I found Liqui Moly 1800
A$24 a liter.
Little expensive but I think I’ll give it ago

I'm not sure I would trust the Maxlife with a Mazda that takes A7. Based on some discussions on this board, the viscocity is much lower for A7 then FZ, and Mazda specifically says they're not compatible with each other. I'm not sure how a one size fits both applications exists. Even Amsoil won't touch it......

Agreed, no reason to. Except it is hard to get Aisin FZ quickly. I only service my grandniece's 2015 Mazda 3, so I just order it ahead of time.

It may not apply, but how much drains out via the drain plug ? Do you have the vehicle jacked up level or on ramps ? I'm going to do my '21 Mazda 6 but I only bought 4 quarts. I've seen people say 3.5-5 quarts drains out. Worst case, I drain it into a marked container and stop it before 4 quarts drains out.

2.5 qts, as I recall. But don't quote me on that.

I can only state that my experience (2012 Mazda3 w/Skyactiv) was 4 quarts out of the drain plug hole. That was with the front end on ramps.

Many of these models use the same transmission, it appears, but I'm guessing Mazda bolts on different size pans ? I use Amsoil's site to see what they say for drain/refill amounts or full-fill amounts and they say "Capacity ranges from 3.5L-4.9L 3.7 Qts-5.1 Qts".

Capacity varies depending on the model, how long you let the fluid drain out, as well as whether you complete a "drain and fill", or whether you complete a drain, drop pan, then refill.

You get a bit more fluid out of the transmission by dropping the pan.
