Mazda/Castrol 0w20 OE

Mazda actually recommends using Castrol (or their own 0w20). Mazda has a partnership with Castrol.

Does anyone know what 0w20 Castrol the dealers are using? I'm curious if it's Edge/Castrol EDGE Extended Performance or something similar to Magnatec.

-Sorry I Don't know, but you might guess its bulk professional magnetic. I was surprised when I sent my wife to the Subaru dealer in Plaistow, NH for an OC (as I was tied up), they used PEAK 0w20 bulk not Subaru genuine "synthetic". Still cost 90 bucks for an oil change! Car ran fine but was clattering like the dickens the last 1000 miles. I got the referenced 0w20 EP in there to hopefully knock off the chore list a couple OCs a year by extending the oci to 8 or 9K.

It is most likely bulk Castrol edge.

If the dealer is indeed using Castrol Edge, you're in pretty good shape!

We also have a few barrels of the Idemitsu Mazda oil that were on a price break for a while.
