Anyone know anything about this coolant? I am about to do the 30K on my girlfriends 2010 Mazda 3. Mazda says it's supposed to last 120k. I think I'm going to drain and fill the radiator anyway. If I can find the stuff. I can't find it online. I'm going to call the dealer today and see if they even have it. If they do I'm sure it'll be like $25 a gallon. I just wonder if the stuff is actually a superior product or if it's just regular old green antifreeze that they mix 50/50 and mark up 4x the price.

The Mazda coolant is "FL22" and it's not the traditional old green, it's a high quality long life coolant. You might want to do those drain 'n fills every two yrs instead of every year - the newer 'freeze formulations really are "long life".

Your local Ford dealer sells the exact same formulation called: "Motorcraft® Specialty Green Engine Coolant With Bittering Agent" and it's probably around $16/gallon.

I was going to do it because the fluid is dark green. When new the fluid is light green. So it obviously has some contamination. Plus I don't think any coolant can last 10 years.

Go buy a new jug of Mazda FL-22 and inspect the contents. It is dark green.

Changing FL-22 at 30K miles is incredibly wasteful. It embodies CCI's best P-OAT coolant technology and will last as long as Mazda claims.
