How many of you gentlemen and ladies use Valvoline Maxlife in conventional flavor and or the Nextgen flavor? I have two jugs of the Nextgen Maxlife in 5ww20 I got on sale to use up. My last oil in the honda was maxlife also. I see advance has some maxlife nextgen in all grades at $2.25 on their clearance rack here in central pa area.

We use both interchangeably and can not tell the slightest difference other than the color of the bottle, and the price, we got all the Nextgen at blow out deals or FAR.

I have 5/6 of my fill (5 of 6 quarts) as Nextgen 5w30, and it is dang smooth. (That 6th quart is Redline, and I will be continuing that with my Valvoline/1 quart Redline mix.)

No complaints, and it is in two engines.

Not a bad oil. Got it on clearance for $1.87 a quart, so.. Using it up, then moving on!

I have no complaints with the performance Maxlife, currently use Synth blend Diesel 10w40 in the Taxi and Clio.

Neither has used any oil since OC.

Taxi has got 7k on the fill and Clio has 2k.

Only thing that I could mention is the Clio is ever so slightly slower to turn over on a cold start.

But I would personally think that has more to do with the fact I have used 0w40 for last couple of years almost exclusively.

One thing against Maxlife is the cost.

Normally £34 for five litre, got the 10 litre is used recently on special offer for £31.

When you can get 8 litres of Castrol Magnatec 10w40 semi for £24, 20 litres of Chevron Supreme semi 10w40 for £44 and 5 litres of Mobil 1 0w40 for £30 it is difficult to spend over 10% more, special offers on Maxlife at EuroCarParts aren't common.

I would definately use it more if I could get it at a better price.

I have about 70 quarts of oil on stash. All but 5 quarts are Maxlife or Maxlife Synthetic, and two 5.1 quart jugs of Maxlife NexGen. All I keep hearing is that Maxlife is the king of high mileage oils. The only other oil I use is low priced quality oil like the Meijer High Mile oil I got for $1.50 a quart a couple years ago, and then I like to run Redline for 20 weight in my Ranger 2.3L Duratec because I often drive it hard.

I think it is noteworthy that the Volvo honestly appears to not have used/burned a drop of oil.. more than 80% Maxlife Nextgen in there. Good stuff!

I am going to Synpower, but if I ever see that on clearance again.. I bought all 15 quarts on clearance when it was there.

NexGen MaxLife and red bottle MaxLife perform identically. I use the red bottle currently.

My current fill is NextGen MaxLife 5w30, which I chose to help with a rear main seal leak/seep and because of a MIR, which made it practically free. My previous fill was Castrol GTX HM 5w30, which turned the leak into a seep and pretty much eliminated all driveway spotting. Since switching to the NextGen MaxLife, the seep has reverted to a leak and I am now finding a new quarter sized drop of oil on the driveway every morning. However, I only have a few hundred miles on the current fill and am waiting for the MaxLife seal conditioners to kick in and have been told that the higher HTHS in the Castrol may have also contributed to the slower leak rate when it was in.

Going from one HM oil to another is not ideal, but ultimately the seal is the issue. Stick with the MaxLife.

I have so much Max Life I offered to change my parents' vehicles oil with it. Roughly 40 of my 59 quart stash is Max Life Conventional, NextGen, and Synthetic.

It's a good oil.

Yeah I have had success with maxlife in the past for slowing/stopping leaks til I could fix the leaking seal/s.
