Hello all,

As of today my local WM now has full synthetic Maxlife. 17.47 for the big jug. So, how does it compare to the semi-synthetic? Cleaning power, and all around durability. I do not leak any oil on my 95 Jeep, but this price may be right for a next oil change.

Thanks for any advise/help!

I haven't seen ML Full Synthetic lately at WM. Additive package and detergent levels should be about the same. MaxLife Full Syn is their top of the line oil and is a full synthetic oil. Probably Group III+/IV/V base oils.

One thing I recently noticed was that the red jug 5w30 ML blend which has the Exceeds dexos 1 label on the front, only claims ACEA A2/B2 Performance. That is lower than the A1/B1 A5/B5. I'm not sure why MaxLife red bottle has the A2.

I noticed the dexos approval, and starburst on the front now, but not the A2/B2. Interesting though. Seems like WM is starting to carry all kinds of new stuff.

I know a lot of folks dislike WM, but you can't beat their oil selection and prices.

There are so many good choices out there and they all perform similarly.

Yes, the great WM debate. I have my feelings about it, but they also offer some great prices on oil, that isn't offered at the extreme O'Reilly prices. I do not know... To each their own. I try and stay out of the politics. Haha.

KDOAXS,

Is your Maxlife Full Synthetic listed at the 24.00 price point? At my WM it is listed as 17.47 along with the other ML. I wonder if my WM has the prices mislabeled?

I had to steal someone's picture, my WM doesn't have it.

Nice change for ML full synthetic.

In the past, you could only purchase ML full synthetic by the quart and you were limited to 5w30, 10w30 all in API-SM.

Advance Auto, this past summer, had the ML, full synthetic on closeout prices. ML full synthetic actually got down to a rock bottom price of $1.95 a quart.

Well I'm glad to see that ML full synthetic is back, especially at WM in the 5 quart jug. With the closeout during the summer I surmised that the full synthetic ML was to be discontinued.

A2/B2 is indeed a very old oil specification.

Not used in Europe anymore and considered defunct.

That has to be an error. The red bottle semi-syn is around $17.50 at my WM. Grab it if it's mislabeled. They have to honor it.
