I ran Maxlife for several years in a motorhome. Around 80,000 miles I filled it with Pennzoil SL Synthetic and it started leaking. I put in a pint can of K&W oil stop leak (is on the CRCIndustries website) and within 500 miles the leak stopped. I sold it 5000 miles later and the leak had not returned.
I've heard the Maxlife can cause some temporary leakage while it is cleaning and conditioning the seals, but that it goes away as the Maxlife finishes its job. New cars should not be a problem at all with Maxlife.
BTW, I understand the early Maxlife had ester, but since several years ago, it is 12-22% PAO. May be a smidgeon of ester in the add pack, who knows though.
