will this additive help pennzoil 5w30 stay in grade in a ford 4.6 engine? The reason for this is that iread that most 5w30 oils shear down to a 20 grade oil .the other half i would put it in the grand cherokee 4.0 using Valvoline MaxLife 10w30 any benefits by doing this? TKS.

I thought on the bottle it says to not use the ML Engine Protectant with ML oils...

4.6's can use 5-20 so I can only assume the Pennzoil will be okay.

If you already have it, pour the whole bottle in or use half for 2 OCI's in the 4.6. The 4.0 in the Cherokee should not need it if using 10-30 MxLife.

That Maxlife Engine Protector has disappeared from store shelves around here. Don't add it to Maxlife/High Mileage Oils. Read the label-wording.

well i have not bought it yet,so then the synpower oil treatment will work on both trucks? half bottle inthe GC and half in the ford. tks

That should work, although some at this site advocate using only an ounce per quart. Not sure you want it in GC though. That stuff is supposed to already be fairly thick, and I can't imagine that GC could sheer down.

The Synpower stuff is $4 whereas the Maxlife stuff is usually $5. But the real reason to use the Synpower OT is it's contents (see VOA at this site). Lot of goodies. The Maxlife stuff (VOA at this site) doesn't have near as much goodies.
