I see some after market offerings. I know it's a crap shoot, help me beat the odds.
2001 Prerunner v6 Extracab. 255K. ( I'm not getting a soft pedal, but today I got kind of a 2 step movement with a fairly loud clunk and the right rear trying to lock up. I did get a flat yesterday (Front right) and put the spare on. It is a little taller than the other 3 tires. It drove ok to the tire shop but pulled to the left when braking. That's when I got to testing the brakes a little harder.) It seems like it is maybe the front circuit that is bypassing the seals and letting the rear lockup? At any rate I'm going to start there if I can find a good MC or repair kit.

RA shows Centric w/ 3K 3 mo. warranty, Quality Built shows 12K 12 mo. both around $95. Anyone use these brands?

Check with Toyota, rebuild kit might be available.

Otherwise, the available master cylinders probably all come from the same factory. Compare warranty vs price. The Dorman warranty says limited lifetime.

I ended up getting a new AM from Oreillys with Lifetime Warranty. At least when (if) it goes out I won't have to mail it back. Got it on, so far, so good.
To anyone trying to get the12mm nut started back on to the driver side stud, use a 1/4" drive short socket on a long 1/4" extension. Thank me later... that's the best route thru the maze of brake lines.

You did what I would do on something like that. I'd get something local like that or a Duralast with the lifetime warranty, especially if I were going to try to keep the truck for a while.
