Police are pretty touchy these days. Make anything they identify as an 'aggresive move' toward them, and they nail you. I guess they classify this in the same manner as if he spat on the cop.
Makes them look like a bunch of wimps. I don't have a lot of sympathy for this guy, as he has already done enough, in my book, to be 'locked up and throw away the key', but c'mon....

read the link to the actual police report contained in the link. 'uncooperative' is an understatement.

Police are going to get more and more punitive to an uncooperative captive. Most of it gets thrown out later on if the guy can afford an attorney worth his pay.
I think it's more like a contract negotiation in collective bargaining ...of an odd sort ..except one way.

It's partly because of all the video cameras. They can't just beat the snot out of the guy like in the good old days.
This would be a little more understandable if instead of being charged with battery, they claimed A$$-ualt.
