I was over at my parents' house after work, and my Dad made the comment to me, that it didn't seem like to him that there was a whole lot to watch on the TV.

They have Dish Network. I pulled up a list of the channels on their package on the Dish website, printed it off, and went through them on their TV... and they're missing at least 20 channels. And the channels that they are missing aren't the [censored] "filler" channels that these companies are well known for. For starters, they're missing about half of their premium sports channels.

I didn't have the time to call DishNetwork tonight while I was at their place, but will be going back tomorrow to call and straighten this mess out.

So... you might want to take a look, and make sure that you're getting everything that you are paying for as well.

It is no wonder that I haven't had cable TV in over 2 years now. They're all crooks.

And I'm laughing my butt off at this little girly slap fight that DirecTV and the Weather Channel are having with each other.

Never mind that the Weather Channel has made themselves nearly irrelevant with their own lame programming choices.

Oops... I said BUTT... and the lame-o censoring software didn't do anything about it. No surprise there,

After over two years without paying for any TV service, I'm getting very close to buying a Roku box... or maybe a year of Amazon Prime.

My folks are retired and live out in the country. I don't blame them for wanting pay TV... but that doesn't give Dish Network the right to screw them out of a number of channels that they're paying for.

dish is a joke... This is a good one my friends mother is 82 and was having a problem with her dish programming when it snowed so she called tech support and was told no problem just go onto the roof and clean the snow off... She said she was 82 and he said sorry!

Congrats to you for looking out for their best interests! I did something similar years ago for a beloved great aunt, but with AT&T. They had her monthly bill clogged with all sorts of add-ons she didn't need. Needless to say...they were no longer taking advantage of her by the time I hung up the phone with ATT. #$%@ pho. co....

While that CSR was an idiot if he knew how old your mom was, the truth is that if you live in snow prone areas you should get a heated dish so that you don't have to clean the snow off it. You just flip a switch and it melts the snow or ice off it.

And don't get me started, I'd say DirecTV is the biggest joke of all with their outrageous prices, horrid customer service, with some of the most arrogant and obnoxious CSRs I have ever been subjected to from ANY business I have ever dealt with.

I noticed the other day that I do not have NFL network, which is odd because I pay $10 extra per mo th for the "sports package" thru Verizon. Wish I could cancel it all, but my wife and daughter would move out

very easy. Put on a roof antenna and have dsl or u-verse.
I get 30 regular channels and stream more than any satellite to my big screens.
type in free tv. you'll cancel cable tomorrow.

I'm certainly happy that I have better things to do than sit around watching the idiot box, no matter how those channels get there.

There are two or three shows I do watch regularly, but they will eventually show up on netflix.

I'm likely going to be dropping my cable soon. I just don't watch TV.

Got by for 2 years without it at my last apartment. That $80 a month would be nice for Jeep parts
