Major Scratch. Help!

I don’t know if this will help you but it’s possible to get good results using a paint pen, sand paper and polish compound. I’ve done something similar to this in the past and it came out pretty good. It’s not body shop perfect, but it’s not as noticeable unless you’re looking for it. Most importantly it’s protected from rusting.

If it’s really deep, consider cleaning it and filling it somewhat with glazing/spot putty, clean again, and get some color over. Less is more. Barely add paint, slowly build. Top with clear. Go slow as you can make things look worse. Perfect is the enemy of good enough.

It depends on where the scratch is. If it's on the bumper it may be time to declare an undying love for Star Trek or for a favorite radio station via a skillfully placed sticker.

Repaint to get it perfect., otherwise you can make it "better" with other means, but it will never be perfect... I have scratches on the door of the Elantra from a corner of a wall or something - bought it that way, and posted it on here, and the take away was live with it, or repaint.

Edit: I just keep this area waxed, and its barely noticeable unless you are looking for it, or if the wax wears off. This picture was taking with the area fully exposed, and no wax.

Yep-Since it will never be "perfect again". And he needs to buy a Silver Color replacement vehicle.

Well, one scratch is different than 4 repainted body panels. What do I know though?

Dr. Colorchip would be my choice here. Can we see some photos of the damage?
