I just use a note book. The maintenance item is written in with the date and mileage.
I use an Excel spread sheet, I have one for each vehicle, my power washer, mower, and show blower. I've been doing so for a very long time now.

For people who own Honda's, there is an owner's website that lets you put in maintenance details. From the description of the website, Honda service shops can also access and enter maintenance for your vehicle too (I don't know, as I do all my maintenance).
Other than that, I keep a single excel spreadsheet with one page per vehicle. Each page is optimized for printing and showing the dealer. The top of each page has the Make, model, VIN. The maintenace chart area has date, mileage, and comments box for work performed. Receipts for parts are kept in a plain file folder.

I buy a bound notebook (about $5-6)at Border's when I get a new vehicle. Record date, mileage and service performed. I also staple in any receipts (oil, rear end lube, service receipts). When the car is sold, I can give it to the new owner.

I keep everything done on my vehicle in order according to date. If I had an oil change I staple the receipt to paper and write down the mileage and date. If I had warranty work done I also keep that so it ends up being one be timeline of history for my vehicle
I just use the service booklet that came with the car. On my Escape with 160k I filled up the back page and back cover and am now working on the front cover.

I should have said I have a page in the spread sheet for each vehicle, mower etc. A great way to track cost, or search when something was done. When you have a vehicle that is almost 23 years old the find function is a great feature.

I use a marble notebook kept in the trunk for each car.
The old fashion way. I do like the convenience of keeping the log in the glove box. Thirty years ago I made a paper template for a Vehicle Service Log modeled after one I got from NAPA. Ten years ago I upgraded the template to a Word document. It's a bunch of pages (1/3 sheet size) covering most of the systems on a car. I may have to tweak it and add some pages for inspection and oil changes, we tend to keep our vehicles for a while.

Same here. I managed to get all the maintenance on our P71'S from the KSP. It is a good thing I stay on good side of the Police Chief.

now days i use a 3x5 card on a spiral. each gas fill on a line, any work done is inbetween the gas entry's. the people in the oil change shop put a sticker on the windshield. the invoice for any work goes in the file folder at the desk indoors. this last oil change was 42 miles over the sticker, the change before that was within 2 miles. i dont have to keep track of part numbers any more, cause i dont do my own work any more. i did have a big envelope of box end flaps so i wouldn't have to dig the numbers up again. when you run the same type engine for over 30 years, you can remember some off the top of your head.

My cellphone calendar has been my go to way of keeping track of all maintenance work done on our vehicles the past 3 years. I just type in a note like Seq (sequoia) t-belt, water pump, trans flush, OC (oil change) and mileage, etc. and I can keep track of everything at a glance when I view calendar.
Aside from keeping receipts in a folder, I plan on using my Samsung Rugby until it breaks and this is one rugged mil-spec flip phone so it should last awhile as maintnance log.
