Magnetic spark plug socket

Relevant Q:
I read that later 3.6l Pentastar engines (2017 on ?) use a 1/2" spark plug.
The blurb said that crushing/twisting these 'new' plugs was possible. The correct socket was a necessity.
Anybody know if any of that is true?

Big agreement on using any rubber holder as a 'get started' tool.
The 14mm is a bit smaller than 9/16" so closer to the 1/2". My Accord calls for 13-16 ft/lbs which is not much. If I was doing old school just ratchet thing I probably would crank down more and could see that doing damage. I used a very tiny bit of anti-seize (like ball point pen sized) on the first threads. Just make me feel better for future. I stuck to lower end of Torque spec which didn't feel like much before it clicked.

The magnet holds it nice and real easy to get started. I usually start counter clockwise so I can feel the thread click and then still go very slow. Any resistance I try again.
