magnetic drain plug?

On my GTI, I have Magna-Guard, FilterMag, and a drain plug magnet. They all catch iron/steel particles and they tell me all I need to know about the engine's ferrous wear situation.

i got the filtermag and the trans filtermag block and stuck it on my oil pan by the drain plug. then i found out ebay has strong neo magnets for less
